Ananda
This gentle yoga combines breath awareness, affirmations, and yoga postures to move from body awareness through energy awareness to, finally, silent, inner awareness. The use of affirmations while in the asanas is a distinct feature of Ananda yoga. This yoga style was developed by an American named Donald J. Walters, known as Swami Kriyananda. He devoted 45 years of his life to studying the teachings of Paramhansa Yogananda.

Buddhist Meditation
This class will introduce the novice to the ancient meditation practices of Tibetan Buddhism—including the cultivation of attention, compassion, clarity and loving kindness. In addition to increasing self-awareness and aiding spiritual development, meditation is an ideal way to prevent anxiety, reduce stress and lower blood pressure. It’s ideal for anyone who wants to slow down, cut through obsessive thinking and work with negative emotions. Although the methods presented belong to a religious spiritual tradition, one need not be Buddhist to benefit from them.

DharmaYoga
DharmaYoga is a bridge between Buddhist mindfulness and hatha yoga embodiment. Its purpose is to unify the mind and body in the present moment. In a DharmaYoga class, we begin by centering in stillness and extending loving kindness to ourselves and others. Then we move into a series of guided yoga postures that stretch, open and strengthen the body. We close with relaxation and meditation. Each class offers a balance of challenge and support.

Gyrokinesis
This system, developed by Julio Horvath, works the entire body through seven natural elements of spinal movement, as well as all other joint articulation. This methodology systematically and gently works the joints and muscles through rhythmic and undulating exercises. Movement which stimulates the body’s internal organs and different corresponding breathing patterns are integrated. Fluidity is the key. Postures are smoothly and harmoniously connected through the use of breath. The corresponding breathing patterns in every movement stimulate the nervous system, open up the energy pathways and oxygenate the blood. The practice of gyrokinesis invigorates and re-educates the body to move with fluidity, relaxation and power.

Kundalini
Kundalni yoga was introduced to this country in 1969 by Yogi Bhajan. This ancient form of yoga combines active movement and stretching with many specific breathing techniques (pranayama). Facilitating circulation throughout the spinal column, exercise sets (kriyas) are combined with sound vibration (mantras), hand positions (mudras), and body locks (bhundas), in order to enhance their effectiveness. In so doing, they serve to dissolve energy blockages within the energy matrix of the body, creating a natural, meditative, blissful state of mind. One not need be particularly flexible or athletic to enjoy the profound benefits of Kundalini yoga; all that is required is the sincere willingness to try one's best while respecting your comfort levels and physical limitations.

Svaroopa
Svaroopa yoga's techniques work with the asanas (poses) in a way that is both precise and compassionate. Every class emphasizes the opening of the core tensions in the body by beginning at the tailbone and progressing through each area of the spine. Each class integrates the foundational principles of asana, anatomy, and yoga philosophy, and emphasizes the development of transcendent inner experience, which is called “svaroopa” by Patanjali in the Yoga Sutras. Students of Svaroopa yoga learn different ways of doing familiar asanas, and also learn additional asanas that they may have never seen before. This yoga practice is based on relaxation and comfort. The asanas are deeply effective and create powerful experiences of healing and transformation.
Svaroopa Daily Yoga Practice:
Learn a series of yoga poses that is simple and appropriate for any body. This practice guides and supports healing on all levels. The poses work scientifically with your body to release the deepest layers of tension found in the muscles connected to your spine and in your mind’s hidden recesses. With this class, you can take home effective poses so that you can continue to enjoy the benefits of yoga in your everyday life.
